I taught middle & high school English Language Arts for five years at the Dayton Regional STEM School (a public school with gifted as well as IEP students), where I created curricula mostly focusing on writing as well as 'good student skills' like accountability, technology, and self-advocacy. During that time, I was proud to be rated "Accomplished" during my evaluations, which is the highest grade possible. Before moving to Ohio, I ran my own tutoring business in Jacksonville, Florida. As a tutor, I focused mostly on writing and organization skills (like managing an agenda and staying on top of deadlines), but I also worked with some of my students on their math homework, biology studying, and social studies assignments, as needed. Before my tutoring business, I taught English in South Korea, and before that, I completed my Masters in secondary English language arts education at Northwestern University. Qualifications: I have a Masters in secondary English LA education (Northwestern University), a current Ohio professional license for ELA grades 7-12, experience working with students on IEPs and 504s (including processing delays, ADD, autism spectrum, and more), experience working with gifted students, and ESOL training through Project:READ in Dayton, Ohio.
