I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University; 3.6 GPA. I have a minor in Spanish and took several art and design courses, as well. I am currently pursuing an AS in Early Childhood Education and Development; I have a 4.0 GPA. I've attended many conferences and seminars concerning brain development, teaching techniques, and learning approaches.

Experience

I previously tutored while in college. A lot of it was editing and refining papers while teaching how to better write them. I took many writing, grammar, and literature courses and am a published author of 3 books. I have also edited several books, theses, articles, and dissertations, many of which were published. In 2010, I won Best Essay ("Of Love and Obsession: An Analysis of Heroes") in a literary journal, and while in college, I received Student Employee of the Year nomination and an Award of Merit. I am currently a preschool teacher.

Hobbies

I enjoy reading (sci-fi, fantasy, classics, dystopian), writing (poetry and fiction), biking, hiking, sports (especially softball and football), computer games (League of Legends, Minecraft, Diablo III, Civilization, Sim City, etc.), painting, and playing piano (often writing my own music). I am goofy and nerdy and will occasionally try to chase squirrels.
