I attended the University of Maryland - Baltimore County for my bachelor's degree in biochemistry. I then went on to the University of Pittsburgh to earn my doctorate in chemistry. In graduate school, I had the opportunity to teach a lab in organic chemistry. As part of this, I was able to lecture and to work individually with students who struggled in the course. I enjoy working with students are having difficulty learning chemistry, and I've developed a methodology that has helped many students improve their understanding. I asked a lot of questions during sessions to figure out where students are making progress and where they still need help. I then have students teach concepts back to me, which is the best way for students to show that they have learned something. When I have free time, I enjoy playing drums and learning foreign languages.
