I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English from Washington University and completed a Master's Degree in education from Arizona State University. I am certified to teach English Language Arts at both the middle and high school levels. I have also received an endorsement for teaching TESOL. I am comfortable tutoring students in a wide range of subjects, including American literature, reading, fiction writing, public speaking, expository writing, critical reading, mathematics, English, comparative literature, English grammar and syntax, British literature, and phonics. I am also skilled at helping students prepare for standardized tests, such as the PSAT, SAT, ACT, LSAT, and GRE. I have extensive experience assisting students with developing their study skills and teaching students how to be more organized. I have taught everyone from refugees to gang members so I have no problem adjusting the way I teach to fit with whatever will work best for my students. My goal is to help my students reach all of their personal goals and get to where they want to be. Outside of school, I enjoy science, thrift store shopping, watching disaster movies, circus arts, linguistics, studying languages, belly dancing, art, reading, and writing.
